happyyy!! my dad has the very very first disc i burnt before my old comp got reformatted! oh it got reformatted cos i stupidly pressed the wrong key when i wanted to reformat the drive with the windows but i accidentally reformatted the other drive with ALL my documents including songs, pics, diaries. which is why i have no memories of sec 3 mid year and before -.- very blur and very stupid.
but anyway yes! my dad gasp has secretly stored the first disc i burnt! which naturally has all my fav songs at that time which now are like super hard to find cos they're not songs that ppl usually listen to but still very very nice and always longed for them and gasp i finally found them! happinessssssss.
these include:
for a moment - little mermaid 2
salve regina - sister act
my god - sister act
i will follow him - sister act
once upon a december - anastasia
on the village green - band song
i've never been to me - v nice song sung by ladies for the ladies
for a moment is yes. treasured. cos nobody even watched little mermaid 2. can't expect them to have the song but it's still such a nice song! like we are one from lion king 2. all these disney shows that never made it to the movies have such nice soundtracks it's really wasted that they didn't become popular. but for a moment is like hm. mother and daughter singing. a song that blends sadness, happiness, new pleasures, old luxuries and irony all into 2 harmonious voices. really wonderful. lolz no la reading a bit too much into it i think.
oh and prince of egypt got an oscar for soundtracks leh! at least that's what my bro said i think. random point.
music is such an amazing thing. the power to cause such passionate surges. that aesthetic feeling. grandeur. wonder. awe. all words that demean that driving force that lies dormant within a piece of music. i guess all other arts have this power. that's the amazing thing abt the arts. they are so powerful. for all 3 groups - composer, performer and audience - art evokes such passions. to quote a book i'm reading now, The Neverending Story, "those affected by them can't explain them, and those who haven't known them have no understanding of them at all".
oh well. so i say. "thank you for the music, for giving it to me" - abba.
